| I shot VRs while helping Maile
K. Thompson shoot a documentary piece on this 3-day, 3-city bike messenger
race. For info on race details and results, check DC Courier's MayHem
2002 Page. This was the first - and by no means the last - time I shot VRs of an event that lasted more than a couple of hours. There are alot of interesting aberrations in some of these pieces; like people moving around and getting caught between exposures resulting in a siamese-twin effect ( peep Baltimore post-race VR ). Aside from minor technical hang-ups, I'm really happy with the results. The trackstand in Bmore was my favorite - I wish I was shooting multiple simultaneous VRs. And it was the one event during which I could actually shoot a VR. Overall, everything turned out well. We got good footage, Richmond and Baltimore were fly , and I got many many hot VRs. Even better, I got to use VR for long-form event coverage - which for the most part is still unique. • How to view VR's |
